I think I did my best to fulfill the roles I was supposed to fulfill on this assignment, the
Director of Photography
Lighting Designer
art director
Colorist
set designer
key grip
and an editor for the credits section.
I referenced the art style of the original film to recreate the visual part of scene via art design, cinematography ,lighting, colour grading, vfx and apply it to the font and colour choices in the credits, I made a shot list with various notes that I’m playing to ensure the execution ,and a database that I reference from , which also works as a film grammar directory for anyone that might be new to it.
With a total overhead of 317aud, the result looks professional and almost as same as the original film.
Due to budget and time constraints, some of the preconceived ideas could not be accomplished, and we were forced to cancel two shots. These sacrifices were avoidable in my opinion, as the producer and director were not very efficient in sourcing props, and I was informed only the night before shooting that there was a portion of the material that they could not acquire, which given me no enough time to provide a new solution.
Overall, I will rate my self 8.5/10.
