Week 2:Script writing exercise & Transformative Photos
I moved into this apartment 3 days ago.
Everything here is old, but the excellent geography (very close to the campus) and the open view from the living room made me selectively ignore the dust on the furniture and the windows, the rusty hinges between the door panels... Besides, my contract with my last landlord expires in a week and he only informed me yesterday that he has no intention of renewing it, which means technically i don't have much time to choose.
Moving into a place and cleaning alone is not an easy task, but I managed to settle in.
It was a morning like any other, the toaster left by the landlord was surprisingly working and I was cleaning it while waiting for my toast to be ready.
Freshly baked toast with a soft, crusty crust and a distinctive grainy aroma, served with some butter or cheese, is a good breakfast - if I didn't find a cockroach's leg while brushing my teeth.
The intense nausea made me dry heave into the toilet .After I finally calmed down, I immediately rushed to the kitchen - something was definitely wrong with that old toaster!
I should have thought of this!
This rusty, crumbly steel box would be he best playground and breeding bed for them! The bottom of the toaster is filled with charred, intact cockroach carcasses as well as fragments of their limbs and wings.
I didn't hesitate to throw away the toaster and clean the kitchen again, inside and out.
I thought I finally got rid of them.
Untill one night, I walked into the bathroom half asleep on my bare feet.
With a crunching sound, some slippery crumbs and wings got between my feet and the bathroom floor.
It instantly brought me back to consciousness,I started a sweep at three o'clock in the morning. The stale sink,
Or the floor drain with its tape residue, all looked incredibly suspicious at this moment.
Every corner where the light had not been found seemed to be piled with brown, tentacled creatures,
Under the bed? No.
Behind the bedside table? No.
Under the chair? No.
In the drawer? No.
Where is it? Where is it? Where is it?
I was at a loss, like a beast trapped in a cage.
wait...
With a jolt, I saw a gap left in the window ......
Could it be that it had gone out?
Yes! It must be out.
I let out a sigh of relief,
I relaxed with a sigh, turned off the light and lay back down on the bed.
My eyes stung slightly and there seemed to be some strange noises in my eardrums.
I frowned and rolled over.
A small, tentacled thing that always likes to move around in the shadows slipped out of my ear canal.
I now knew where they were.
